Okay…you will need a chicken roaster to hold your beer in…mine is similar to this one on this website: (sorry for the long link!) http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202040930/h_d2/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&keyword=Brinkmann+Steel+Vertical+Chicken+Roaster&jspStoreDir=hdus&Nu=P_PARENT_ID&navFlow=3&catalogId=10053&langId=-1&ddkey=Search
-What you do is empty about a quarter of a can of beer and place it in the stand.
-Thoroughly wash your chicken and pat dry (after removing all the “guts” ofcourse)
-Open the cavity and shove a few apples slices in and slide over the can of beer.
-Stuff everywhere outside the bird that you can with remaining apple slices. (I can use about a whole apple, varying slice sizes accordingly)
-Using almost a whole package of bacon, wrap your bird! You may need to use toothpicks to keep it in place like around the legs and whatnot.
-Place in a deep roast pan, standing up. I like to add about 1-2 cups of chicken broth to the bottom of the pan to help keep things moist while baking. Enough to fill the bottom of the pan, but so it’s not touching much of the legs.
-Bake on 300 for 3-4 hours. Bacon will get crispy and apples quite yucky…but the chicken is superb!
Hubby likes to mince the bacon up with his chicken, I’m quite content without it 😉 ❤ Joanna Schaper
