saute 1 onion, 1 bell pepper, three minced garlic cloves and 1 carrot (all chopped) until translucent (~5 min). add 1 pound ground beef, cook til browned. season with salt and fresh pepper to taste. put meat mixture into crock-pot/slow-cooker, add 1 can of crushed tomatoes and 1 can of tomato sauce (or really any tomato product you like), season with italian seasonings and cook on low for 4 hours.
